The requirement to display a label on vehicles fitted with an LPG system
In view of the requirement coming into force on 17 May 2024 marking of a vehicle in which an additional gas supply system has been fitted, with an information plate (Journal of Laws 2023, item 919, Article 43, The Act of 14 April 2023 on the type-approval of vehicles and their equipment ), by the installation company that carried out the installation of the additional gas supply system, the Installer / Holder of the type approval, hereby stipulates the following:
- On the basis of the Protocol for the Installation and Inspection of LPG Systems (F-7.22), an authorised representative of the Installer / Holder of the installation approval issues an Extract from the Certificate of Approval of the Installation Method the certificate adapting the vehicle type for gas fuel (F-7.23) in triplicate, signed in the ‘traditional’ manner, and, in addition, an information plate for the vehicle’s auxiliary gas fuel system (in accordance with the template (see below).
- The set of documents (three copies of the extract plus an information plate) is sent by post or courier to the installation company.
- The installation company is required to affix an information plate permanently in a visible position on the vehicle door frame (the centre pillar of the driver’s door).
In the event that a vehicle is registered with a gas installation fitted, without an extract from certificates of approval for installation methods and failure to mark the vehicle permanently an information plate; the installation company is required to provide the customer, together with the vehicle, with a signed installation and inspection report and an invoice for the installation.
We would also like to inform you that, as of 17 May 2024, we are suspending the option to print extracts from the type-approval certificate for the installation of a system adapting a given vehicle type for gas operation (F-7.23) in the e-type approval system, signed by mechanical stamp, for companies installing automotive gas systems.
KME Sp. z o.o. makes entries in the PL*0017*00/G type-approval register.
From 10 January 2022, KME Sp. z o.o. is introducing new rules for registering a facility to be included in the network of installation facilities in accordance with type-approval certificate No. PL*0017*00/G (Spark ignition + LPG, category: N1/M1)
Entry rules:
1. SUBMISSION OF COMPLETE DOCUMENTS
Submit the WORKSHOP APPLICATION FORM FOR INCLUSION IN THE KME NETWORK OF ESTABLISHMENTS, together with the required documents:
- registration documents (CEIDG / KRS / REGON / NIP),
- a photocopy of the purchase invoice for the exhaust gas analyser, showing the serial number on the invoice (or a statement confirming that the analyser details on the invoice – model and serial number – are correct), or the purchase agreement for the analyser,
- a valid certificate of conformity for the analyser (or a CE declaration of conformity for new analysers),
- a photocopy of the purchase invoice for an electronic gas detector (leak tester), with the model number stated on the invoice,
- CE certificate (manufacturer’s declaration) for an electronic gas detector
- GDPR clause,
- A scan of the bank transfer confirmation for PLN 850 net (PLN 1,045.50 gross). The cost of PLN 850 net (PLN 1,045.50 gross) covers the fees payable to ITS. KME does not charge any additional fees for the registration.

2. PRELIMINARY CHECK + SIGNING OF THE COOPERATION AGREEMENT
Following a successful preliminary inspection carried out by an authorised representative of KME Sp. z o.o., a ‘cooperation agreement’ will be signed. The document will be confirmed by the PRELIMINARY ASSESSMENT CERTIFICATE FOR THE FACILITY APPLYING FOR INCLUSION IN THE NETWORK OF KME FACILITIES AUTHORISED FOR INSTALLATION
3. APPLICATION FOR THE REGISTRATION OF A WORKSHOP IN THE ITS
4. CONFIRMATION OF REGISTRATION IN THE ITS AND ISSUANCE OF THE RELEVANT CERTIFICATE.
The waiting period for registration, from the submission of documents to the establishment’s appearance on the main list of workshops in the ITS, can take between one and two months. Once registered, the fitting workshop is issued with an extension and item number, which it must include on every type-approval certificate extract it completes.
Important!!!
Incomplete documents will be retained by KME for up to 3 months from the date of receipt of the application.
If the documentation is not completed, the application will be deemed a WITHDRAWAL OF THE APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION, and the documents submitted will be deleted.
If an application for type-approval registration is resubmitted, the documents required for registration will need to be resubmitted, as the application will be considered anew.

The essential equipment for a workshop fitting gas systems in vehicles includes:
• a multi-component exhaust gas analyser – with a valid calibration certificate,
• an electronic gas detector – with a CE certificate.
