The Hyundai i20 1.0 TGDi with a three-cylinder turbocharged engine was used by me twice as a means of transport from Łódź to Modlin and I drove it many times around the city.
This allowed us to form an opinion on this machine, the characteristic feature of which is the very hard and unpleasant operation of the engine, especially when it is still not warmed up.
After warming up and switching to LPG, it sounds a bit better, and after exceeding 3,000 revolutions per minute, it is no longer noticeable that we are dealing with three cylinders and the turbine turns on quite clearly and then the drive even becomes pleasant.
A gearbox that changes gears precisely, but has very long ratios, requires getting used to, which requires frequent downshifts by up to two gears if we want to accelerate quickly and the fifth gear only serves to maintain the set speed.
The car drives well and confidently even at high speeds (I promise you). the brakes are also good and it will turn back on the manual, which is a rarity in today’s cars. The gas consumption for dynamic driving is just over 7 liters and the petrol extra injection is between 0.8 and 1.7 liters of petrol. Overall, it’s cool and accepts LPG without any problems!
